Descrizione sintetica delle attività svolte:
The principle research interest is to understand the processes that drive genome evolution.
Particular attention is devoted to understand the evolutionary forces driving:
i) the compositional transition from cold- to warm-blooded vertebrates affecting both coding and non-coding regions.
ii) the gene loss/gain in deuterostomes, with the aim to characterize the functional classes of genes
